1. Domaine Geschickt 'One Drop' 2022, Alsace, France
A big blend of Alsacian varieties, Chasselas, Muscat, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Blanc made by our incredible biodynamic estate in Ammerschwihr. The 'One Drop' is a collaborative cuvée with part of the profits being donated to a humanitarian association ‘Un Espoir Pour Gossi/Gao’. This organisation was create as an aid to the Sub-Saharan population as support to their health and educational independence. Some of the grapes are made as a white, others as an orange with a little skin contact. After blending the wine is bottled with a little residual sugar which is finished in bottle creating a like sparkle. Expect notes of notes of peach, acacia and chamomile and nice orange pith texture.
2. Longarico Catarratto 'Nostrale' 2023, Sicily, Italy
Longarico is the small project of two friends: Alessandro Viola and Luigi Stalteri. Together they organically farm the calcareous soils of Alcamo in the north west coast of the island. They believe that Catarratto is the indigenous variety that best expresses the Sicilian terroir. The 'Nostrale' is perfumed with heady chamomile, golden pineapple and a floral lift. The palate is zesty and mouthwatering, yet intensely flavoured.
3. Esmeralda García Verdejo 'Santyuste' 2022, Segovia, Spain
The talented Esmeralda Garcia is a Verdejo expert, tending ancient bush vines growing in the poor sandy soils of her hometown Segovia. She has four small parcels of pre-phylloxera vines, all with their own intricacies, with different soils, exposures and altitutes; translating to very different expressions of the same variety. The Santyuste is great introduction to her work, and a blend of the four sites. This is showing beautiful intense stone fruit matched by beeswax, hazelnut toast and herbaceous lift. Generous and round.
4. Vin Noé Beaujolais Nouveau 2024, Beaujolais, France
Vin Noé is a project of Jonathan Purcell, originally from California Jon found a new home in Burgundy. After working with some top domaines and launching his beautiful négoce project Vin Noé he got the opportunity to take over the vineyards of organic farming legent Jean-Jacque Morel. This year we have been grace with a limited amount of his beautiful Nouveau which doesn't disappoint. Elegant raspberry fruit, rose and gentle pink pepper come to mind. You can serve this chilled.
5. Domaine de Cocagne Grolleau 'Le Grain Entier' 2023, Loire, France
Grolleau from dynamic duo Clarisse and Benjamin, running a small organic estate in Touraine. They met whilst studying oenology and after many travels around the world decided to settle in the tranquil countryside of the Loire valley. This Grolleau combines light crunchy fruit with bitters and spiced notes. Elegant blue fruit, hints of violets, dried herbs and earthy undertones.
6. Vins et Volailles 'Cancel Culture' 2020, Bordeaux, France
Vins et Volailles is run by a dynamic group friends, partnering with different lower intervention winemakers and tell a story with each wine and label. 'Cancel culture' is a collaboration with Château Massereau, a beautiful Bordeaux blend showcasing aromas of fresh blackcurrant, crushed green peppercorns, bruised red plum and savoury earthy notes on the finish.
