The Gueule d’Amour is a beautiful Pinot Noir made by no other than Jonathan Purcell. A talented American winemaker who has fallen in love with Beaune and settled in the region, making some of the most dynamic and ethereal wines. Most recently he has taken over the incredibly thought after sites of retired vigneron Jean Jacques Morel in St Aubin and Puligny Montrachet. His 2021 Pommard is quite different compared to the previous vintages of this wine. While it offers incredible concentration and balance, it isn’t quite as dark fruited and generous as 2020, but more perfumed and delicate. Lovely tension on the palate, culmination on a very long, mineral finish.
